I have to say to I'm very impressed with the show so far. The series covers the events that take place with Sarah and John Connor between T2 and T3. Lena Headey (the wife from '300' and the chick from 'Gossip') plays Sarah Connor and does a great job, right down down to mimicking some of Linda Hamilton's mannerisms from T2. Summer Glau (River from Firefly/Serenity) plays Cameron. John is played by a guy from 7th Heaven I think. The effects are rather well done, keeping with the theme of the movies and the show is a nice mix of action and drama, in about the same ratio as Heroes. Check it out - a new episode is on tomorrow night on FOX.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7889627409165635771.post-5324034763331621302008-01-01T14:47:00.000-05:002008-01-01T13:48:53.298-05:00News Years Resolutions 2008This is the first post of the new year and this time of the year everyone make their resolutions for the new year. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:

Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.
Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.
Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.
Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.
Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

Start date is today December 4, 2007
End date will be August 31, 2010
Tasks complete: 4/101

General
001. Finish making this list. (12/4/07)

Health, Fitness + Sports
002. See a dentist.
003. Drink glass water a day.
004. Brush my teeth daily.
005. This album is produced by Trent Raznor of Nine Inch Nails. Here’s the scoop on his new project from whudat.com.

Enter poet Saul Williams: he’s decided to release his new album “The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggytardust” on his website for 5 bucks or absolutely nothing. Your choice.

He was encouraged to make the move by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, who he collaborates with on the album.

This isn’t only about money. It’s potentially the way towards artistic freedom. An album by a poet with a message and an industrial rocker isn’t going to get much attention from the marketing department at a major label. Where’s the hook? Got a dance to go with it? The kids won’t buy it. And there’s that title, “The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggytardust.”

Feel what you may: Nas naming his album “Nigger” is a surface level move that some people just can’t see themselves getting past to the deeper observations that the album will have. For sure at this stage in his career, Nas isn’t about to take a drunken stumble through ignorant park.

Making that point even clearer is Saul Williams making the play on words to imply the word nigger.

The way he sees it..

“I’ve thought long and hard about all the discussion surrounding racial epithets etc. and chose this title as a means of furthering the dialogue while also showing how creativity will outlive and outshine hatred of any kind. The Niggytardust concept sets me free to do more on stage with costume, etc. than one might expect from a regular Saul Williams show. It allows me to put my theatre training to use.”

Remember to spread the word of NiggyTardust.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7889627409165635771.post-50381592740048018462007-10-29T12:24:00.001-04:002007-10-29T12:24:33.113-04:00Chris Rock- View on Love and Relationships

If you ever wondered why relationships are hard. The month of October has been a very busy month for me. Mid-September, I took some well deserved time off work to visit my daughter Mackenna in New Brunswick. For those who don't know where New Brunswick is, it’s located on the East Coast of Canada (the Maritimes). If you don't know where Canada is, I can't help you there, and you need to go back to school. It’s been a while, almost a year, since I last saw Mackenna. My daughter is now 4.5 years old and has changed so much in just one year. I'm amazed at the things she does and says. It’s scary to realize she is no longer the little baby that changed my life back on March 9, 2003. I'm happy I made the time to reconnect with my little girl even though it was only for a short period of time.

Now I am back in Toronto, the city of grey skies, busy streets and culture at every footstep. I'm back at work. It’s the start of a new season at the community centre where I have worked off and on for the past eight years. As I'm writing this post I'm realizing I have worked here for a long, long time and nothing has really changed since the first time I stepped in this building back in September 1999. A number of bosses, kids, parents and staff have come and gone but I'm still here. I would think they would have promoted me or at least named the building after me, but I don’t think that is ever going to happen. Many people think the reason I have stayed here so long is because this is a cushy job and very convenient. I don't do much here and it’s very close to home, just a 20 minute walk down the street. The problem I have now is that I'm getting tired of working here and I need something more challenging, more rewarding, and better pay than what I'm getting now.

This month I am seriously ready to start my own business. I know I have said I want to do this before, but I am really serious this time around. I have had several interesting conversations about this with my friend Bruce. Bruce is a sculptor and co worker I have worked with throughout the past two years. He has given me a lot of useful insight on starting a business in a creative field. I have many things to do and think about, which I would not have been aware of if it weren’t for Bruce.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7889627409165635771.post-58171685927196862082007-09-20T13:04:00.000-04:002007-12-24T13:31:02.232-05:00Emil Kozak
Emil Kozak was inspired to take on graphic design as a result of his life long passion for skateboarding. I think this is the fastest summer I've ever experienced. Everyone I talk to about this thinks the same thing. I now definitely think time flies especially when you get older.

Speaking of the end of summer, on Saturday I went to Ontario Place and The Ex with Shannon, Kiara and my brother Tunji. I had a pretty good time except for trying to find a parking spot, but that's a story for another time. If anyone knows how hard it is to park in downtown Toronto during the long weekend, you know what I'm talking about.

On another note, this month is going to be a very interesting month for me. I'm going to have quite a bit of downtime this month because of reduced hours at my current job. I am going to use the time to look for a new job, finish up unfinished projects, and just relax and figure out what I'm going to do with my life. I can't wait to see what September has in store for me.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7889627409165635771.post-7447458633263609212007-08-31T17:11:00.000-04:002007-12-24T13:35:41.238-05:00First post on the new blog.

Well, this is the official first post of my new blog.

This blog is going to be an extension of my portfolio site once I get that up and running.
